John Baker is a fourth generation Houstonian and fifth generation Texan. He attended The Kinkaid School and Northwest Academy prior to graduating from South Kent School in South Kent Connecticut. His collegiate pursuits included Post College in Waterbury, CT and the University of Houston Downtown where he studied Business Administration.
John's background is peppered with the farming and ranching business and owner of a trucking logistics firm in Pearsall, Texas. For 28 years he was involved as a health, safety and environmental quality executive for several Gulf Coast oil and gas firms where he learned first-hand the value of outstanding customer service and quality control.
He believes in the concept of "getting things right the first time," a lesson well-learned in his previous business endeavors and one that will characterize his approach to the real estate business. John believes that "clients should experience total satisfaction," and that is the secret to ensuring loyalty and a solid referral base. His commitment to excellence is paramount in his approach to all real estate transactions and his experience as a farm/ranch owner has reinforced the importance of meeting his customer's expectations.
Coming from a noted Houston family, John's parents taught him at an early age the importance of the 5 P's - - prior preparation prevents poor performance. They also emphasized the importance of sticking with a commitment until closure.
John's volunteer activities include: Lifelong member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Texas Wildlife Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, South Texas Property Rights Association, and Baker Institute for Public Policy (Rice University).
When time allows, John enjoys hunting and fishing, farming and ranching, Texas history and genealogy. He is married and father to four boys.
