Rhoades maintains balance in her life by cooking, traveling and spending quality time with family. Experiencing the joys and pains of motherhood has contributed to her success by making her stronger. "I am not a quitter," she says. "I am fueled by challenges and not afraid to face problems.
Prior to knowing Emmy as our realtor, she had been a friend to my wife and family for nearly a decade. She would often invite us to gatherings at her home and would often call to make sure we were coming and when we were there check that we were enjoying ourselves. Always comfortable with people and with her ability to find an association with nearly everyone, it was an extraordinary fit that she had become a realtor. Over the years I have purchased and sold a few homes, some by myself and others through a realtor. Prior to working with Emmy, my experiences with realtors has always been rather negative. Usually, I found myself on a need to know basis and often time the realtors I worked with were either completely unavailable or unable to do their job. I often found them to be the crux of either my purchase or sale. It has not been like that with Emmy. When my family grew and we needed to expand we decided that going with her was our best option. Not only did she know us as friends, but we knew she would take the time to understand what we wanted and needed in a home. We spent several hours discussing with her what we were looking for and what ares we planned on moving to. Emmy made several observations about the areas and about the homes we were interested in and helped us refine what it was that would work for our growing family. Over the next few weeks of looking at different homes in our chosen area, we had settled on two different homes. When the time came to get everything together for the home we had settled on, Emmy was there to work with us at any time during the day or evening. She helped us get with a good mortgage company and worked with us when we had questions that we hadn't thought of until 10 pm on a Sunday evening. Our home closing went through on time with no surprises or last minute gotchas which is, honestly, the biggest fear when purchasing a new home.
My family grew once again when we inherited my mother; We needed a larger home and we needed to sell our current home. Once again, we were working with Emmy to find our newest homestead. Even with her own family emergency back in the Philippines, Emmy contacted us and while she was away had someone she trusted in her place to make sure that we were being worked with and not forgotten as some other would possibly have done. As soon as she returned, Emmy was able to help us pinpoint, once again, a home that met exactly what we were looking for and negotiated the best price in a very nice neighborhood. As we prepare for the inevitable sale, I am looking forward to selling my home with Emmy. She is quick to offer pointers and ideas to help us with our next steps in selling our home. She already knows the pricing in our area and has already begun put together a plan to help get our old home sold and my family happily in their new home. Had she been the first realtor I had worked with I think the bar for realtors would have been set so high that I would have absolutely refused to work with anyone else in the business. To that point, when we prepare to purchase our vacation/retirement home in the Philippines or any other property for that matter, she will be with one to gain our business and help us find the exactly what we are looking for.
