When we compared Waverly Park Elementary School, which is a part of FORT WORTH ISD, with Young Women's Leadership Academy, which is a part of FORT WORTH ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Waverly Park Elementary School has a regular student population of 715 with a 15.2 students/teacher ratio while Young Women's Leadership Academy has 467 students and a student-teacher ratio of 14 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Waverly Park Elementary School’s only distinction designation is in Science. Young Women's Leadership Academy's three out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Social Studies and post-secondary.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Waverly Park Elementary School. They make up for 47.41% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (25.03%), African Americans (21.54%), Two or More Races (4.34%), Asians (1.40%) and Native Americans (0.14%).
At Young Women's Leadership Academy, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 61.67% of student population, followed by African Americans (19.70%), Whites or Caucasians (13.06%), Asians (3.43%) and Two or More Races (2.14%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, Waverly Park Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly higher at 78.46% compared to 73.02% at Young Women's Leadership Academy.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Waverly Park Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 22.10% of its student population compared to 19.49% at Young Women's Leadership Academy.
In addition, Waverly Park Elementary School has 19.86% bilingual students, 6.01% are in the gifted and talented program, while 17.48% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Young Women's Leadership Academy with 18.63% bilingual students, 52.46% gifted and talented students and 1.28% students in the special education program.
