Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Hilliard Elementary School's two out of seven distinctions are in with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Tinsley Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Tinsley Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 89.72% of student population, followed by African Americans (9.46%), Whites or Caucasians (0.49%), Asians (0.16%) and Two or More Races (0.16%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Hilliard Elementary School, African Americans make up 68.83% of student population, followed by Hispanics (28.01%), Two or More Races (1.48%), Whites or Caucasians (0.93%), Asians (0.56%) and Native Americans (0.19%).
Based on household incomes, the Tinsley Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 99.02% compared to 99.26% at Hilliard Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Tinsley Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 85.32% of its student population compared to 14.84% at Hilliard Elementary School.
Tinsley Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 84.99%, gifted and talented students, 7.34%, while 5.71% are in the special education program. Hilliard Elementary School bilingual students comprise 12.80%, gifted and talented students, 0.93%, and 7.61% are in the special education program.
