Douglas Elementary School's two out of seven distinctions are in Science and post-secondary. T J Austin Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at T J Austin Elementary School. They make up for 64.76% of student population, followed by African Americans (32.83%), Two or More Races (1.51%) and Whites or Caucasians (0.90%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.
At Douglas Elementary School, Hispanics make up 81.82% of student population, followed by African Americans (13.47%), Whites or Caucasians (2.86%), Two or More Races (1.68%) and Native Americans (0.17%). There is no Asians student in the school.
Based on household incomes, T J Austin Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 97.29% compared to 96.97% at Douglas Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, T J Austin Elementary School has 148 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 44.58% of student population. Douglas Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 356 or about 59.93% of student population.
