Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Stuchbery Elementary School, which is a part of PASADENA ISD, with Moore Elementary School, which is a part of PASADENA ISD, we noted a wide disparity in ratings.
Stuchbery Elementary School has a regular student population of 620 with a 12.1 students/teacher ratio while Moore Elementary School has 377 students and a student-teacher ratio of 11 students/teacher ratio.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Moore Elementary School's two out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. Stuchbery Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Stuchbery Elementary School. They make up for 60.81% of student population, followed by African Americans (24.52%), Whites or Caucasians (8.23%), Asians (4.84%), Two or More Races (1.13%) and Native Americans (0.16%).
At Moore Elementary School, Hispanics make up 73.21% of student population, followed by Asians (9.28%), African Americans (8.49%), Whites or Caucasians (5.57%), Two or More Races (2.92%) and Native Americans (0.27%).
Based on household incomes, Stuchbery Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 78.06% compared to 76.13% at Moore Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Stuchbery Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 27.42% of its student population compared to 36.87% at Moore Elementary School.
Stuchbery Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 24.68%, gifted and talented students, 7.74%, while 13.71% are in the special education program. Moore Elementary School bilingual students comprise 31.30%, gifted and talented students, 4.77%, and 14.59% are in the special education program.
