It is in this area where the two schools differ. Sinclair Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary and with 25% student progress. Texas Connections Academy At Houston’s only distinction designation is in Social Studies.

Based on household incomes, the Sinclair Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 35.89% compared to 42.40% at Texas Connections Academy At Houston.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Sinclair Elementary School has 30 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 4.78% of student population. Texas Connections Academy At Houston has significantly more ELLs at 412 or about 4.07% of student population.
Sinclair Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 6.54%, gifted and talented students, 25.36%, while 9.89% are in the special education program.
