Distinction Designations for Serene Hills Elementary School and West Cypress Hills Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Serene Hills Elementary School is Whites or Caucasians who make up nearly 78.11% of student population, followed by Hispanics (11.57%), Two or More Races (4.63%), Asians (3.56%), African Americans (1.78%) and Native Americans (0.36%).
At West Cypress Hills Elementary School, Whites or Caucasians make up 79.46% of student population, followed by Hispanics (14.23%), Two or More Races (5.41%), Asians (0.54%), African Americans (0.18%) and Native Americans (0.18%).
Based on household incomes, the Serene Hills Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 4.45% compared to 7.03% at West Cypress Hills Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Serene Hills Elementary School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 3.20% of its student population compared to 1.62% at West Cypress Hills Elementary School.
Serene Hills Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 3.20%, gifted and talented students, 5.34%, while 12.46% are in the special education program. West Cypress Hills Elementary School bilingual students comprise 1.62%, gifted and talented students, 3.06%, and 12.97% are in the special education program.
