Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Bens Branch Elementary School's two out of seven distinctions are in Science and 25% closing performance gaps. Robert Crippen Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Robert Crippen Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 67.19% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (24.05%), African Americans (4.24%), Two or More Races (2.55%), Native Americans (0.99%) and Asians (0.57%).
The student population at Bens Branch Elementary School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 44.70%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (42.73%), African Americans (4.55%), Asians (4.39%), Two or More Races (3.18%) and Native Americans (0.30%).
Based on household incomes, Robert Crippen Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 72.70% compared to 41.97% at Bens Branch Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Robert Crippen Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 42.01% of its student population compared to 25.91% at Bens Branch Elementary School.
In addition, Robert Crippen Elementary School has 47.24% bilingual students, 5.37% are in the gifted and talented program, while 11.17% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Bens Branch Elementary School with 46.06% bilingual students, 6.82% gifted and talented students and 8.94% students in the special education program.
