Rice Sch /La Escuela Rice's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Briscoe Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at Rice Sch /La Escuela Rice. They make up for 45.86% of student population, followed by Hispanics (45.29%), Asians (3.95%), Whites or Caucasians (3.11%) and Two or More Races (1.69%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Briscoe Elementary School, Hispanics make up 98.10% of student population, followed by African Americans (0.95%), Asians (0.47%) and Native Americans (0.47%). There is no Two or More Races and Whites or Caucasians students in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Rice Sch /La Escuela Rice’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 69.59% compared to 95.26% at Briscoe Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Rice Sch /La Escuela Rice has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 22.98% of its student population compared to 50.71% at Briscoe Elementary School.
Rice Sch /La Escuela Rice’s bilingual students comprise 21.47%, gifted and talented students, 22.79%, while 8.57% are in the special education program. Briscoe Elementary School bilingual students comprise 49.76%, gifted and talented students, 5.69%, and 11.85% are in the special education program.
