Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Overton Park Elementary School, which is a part of FORT WORTH ISD, with Versia Williams Elementary School, which is a part of FORT WORTH ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Overton Park Elementary School has a regular student population of 519 with a 16 students/teacher ratio while Versia Williams Elementary School has 309 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13.7 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Overton Park Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Versia Williams Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Overton Park Elementary School is Whites or Caucasians who make up nearly 77.26% of student population, followed by Hispanics (12.33%), Two or More Races (4.62%), African Americans (2.70%), Asians (2.70%) and Native Americans (0.19%).
At Versia Williams Elementary School, Hispanics make up 86.08% of student population, followed by African Americans (9.71%), Whites or Caucasians (3.24%) and Two or More Races (0.97%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Overton Park Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 8.67% compared to 94.50% at Versia Williams Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Overton Park Elementary School has 6 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 1.16% of student population. Versia Williams Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 184 or about 59.55% of student population.
Overton Park Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 1.16%, gifted and talented students, 21.77%, while 11.95% are in the special education program.
