Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Neff Ecc, which is a part of HOUSTON ISD, with Henderson J Elementary School, which is a part of HOUSTON ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

Henderson J Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Neff Ecc has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Neff Ecc is Hispanics who make up nearly 86.84% of student population, followed by African Americans (7.54%), Asians (3.33%), Whites or Caucasians (1.93%), Native Americans (0.18%) and Two or More Races (0.18%).
At Henderson J Elementary School, Hispanics make up 96.08% of student population, followed by African Americans (3.10%), Whites or Caucasians (0.65%) and Native Americans (0.16%). There is no Asians and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Neff Ecc’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 95.79% compared to 99.18% at Henderson J Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Neff Ecc has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 79.30% of its student population compared to 66.34% at Henderson J Elementary School.
In addition, Neff Ecc has 79.30% bilingual students, 1.05% are in the gifted and talented program, while 3.51% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Henderson J Elementary School with 64.87% bilingual students, 10.78% gifted and talented students and 6.05% students in the special education program.
