When we compared Morris Middle School, which is a part of PASADENA ISD, with Bobby Shaw Middle School, which is a part of PASADENA ISD, we noted a big difference in ratings.
Morris Middle School’s regular student population is 714 with a 11.6 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Bobby Shaw Middle School is 681 students and a 12 students/teacher ratio.
Morris Middle School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Morris Middle School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Bobby Shaw Middle School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Morris Middle School is Hispanics who make up nearly 70.73% of student population, followed by African Americans (18.49%), Asians (6.16%), Whites or Caucasians (3.78%) and Two or More Races (0.70%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Bobby Shaw Middle School, Hispanics make up 94.13% of student population, followed by African Americans (2.94%), Whites or Caucasians (2.50%) and Two or More Races (0.44%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Morris Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 78.71% compared to 91.04% at Bobby Shaw Middle School.
