Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Both schools garnered only five distinction designations or awards for outstanding performance. For Metcalf Elementary School these are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps while Postma Elementary School secured in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Metcalf Elementary School. They make up for 61.77% of student population, followed by African Americans (21.59%), Asians (7.05%), Whites or Caucasians (6.90%), Two or More Races (1.50%) and Native Americans (1.20%).
The student population at Postma Elementary School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 29.42%, followed by African Americans (28.45%), Whites or Caucasians (18.46%), Asians (18.46%), Two or More Races (4.95%) and Native Americans (0.09%).
