When we compared Hughey Elementary School, which is a part of EL PASO ISD, with Crockett Elementary School, which is a part of EL PASO ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Hughey Elementary School's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Crockett Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Hughey Elementary School. They make up for 57.82% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (21.44%), African Americans (10.19%), Two or More Races (6.85%), Asians (1.93%) and Native Americans (0.53%).
At Crockett Elementary School, Hispanics make up 97.12% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (2.88%). There is no African Americans, Asians, Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Hughey Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 79.09% compared to 90.04% at Crockett Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Hughey Elementary School has 146 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 25.66% of student population. Crockett Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 220 or about 48.67% of student population.
In addition, Hughey Elementary School has 27.94% bilingual students, 1.76% are in the gifted and talented program, while 11.25% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Crockett Elementary School with 61.06% bilingual students, 5.09% gifted and talented students and 10.84% students in the special education program.
