When we compared High Point Elementary School, which is a part of NAVASOTA ISD, with Brule Elementary School, which is a part of NAVASOTA ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
High Point Elementary School has a regular student population of 458 with a 14.8 students/teacher ratio while Brule Elementary School has 309 students and a student-teacher ratio of 11.1 students/teacher ratio.
High Point Elementary School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 70 in student achievement, 75 in school progress and 65 in closing performance gaps. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Brule Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science and post-secondary. High Point Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at High Point Elementary School. They make up for 53.28% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (41.27%), African Americans (2.84%), Two or More Races (1.97%), Asians (0.22%) and Native Americans (0.22%).
At Brule Elementary School, Hispanics make up 70.87% of student population, followed by African Americans (18.45%), Whites or Caucasians (9.39%) and Two or More Races (1.29%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the High Point Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 80.79% compared to 88.67% at Brule Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, High Point Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 34.93% of its student population compared to 29.13% at Brule Elementary School.
In addition, High Point Elementary School has 33.62% bilingual students, 1.97% are in the gifted and talented program, while 17.47% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Brule Elementary School with 28.48% bilingual students, 2.59% gifted and talented students and 16.83% students in the special education program.
