When we compared Greenwood Hills Elementary School, which is a part of RICHARDSON ISD, with Yale Elementary School, which is a part of RICHARDSON ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Greenwood Hills Elementary School has a regular student population of 378 with a 10.1 students/teacher ratio while Yale Elementary School has 410 students and a student-teacher ratio of 11.5 students/teacher ratio.
Greenwood Hills Elementary School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 69 in student achievement, 74 in school progress and 74 in closing performance gaps. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Greenwood Hills Elementary School and Yale Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Greenwood Hills Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 74.07% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (13.23%), African Americans (6.35%), Two or More Races (4.23%), Asians (1.32%) and Native Americans (0.26%).
The student population at Yale Elementary School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 46.59%, followed by Hispanics (25.37%), African Americans (12.44%), Asians (9.02%) and Two or More Races (6.59%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, Greenwood Hills Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 73.02% compared to 40.24% at Yale Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Greenwood Hills Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 58.20% of its student population compared to 12.20% at Yale Elementary School.
In addition, Greenwood Hills Elementary School has 58.20% bilingual students, 5.82% are in the gifted and talented program, while 15.34% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Yale Elementary School with 12.20% bilingual students, 7.80% gifted and talented students and 19.76% students in the special education program.
