Garland High School’s regular student population is 2,385 with a student-teacher ratio of 15.8 students/teacher ratio. The student population at N Garland High School is 2,750 students and a student-teacher ratio of 17.5 students/teacher ratio.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. At N Garland High School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 55.35% of student population, followed by Asians (20.73%), African Americans (12.18%), Whites or Caucasians (9.82%), Two or More Races (1.20%) and Native Americans (0.73%).
Based on household incomes, Garland High School’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 73.96% compared to 72.44% at N Garland High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Garland High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 33.38% of its student population compared to 27.93% at N Garland High School.
Garland High School’s bilingual students comprise 31.15%, gifted and talented students, 24.49%, while 8.26% are in the special education program. N Garland High School bilingual students comprise 25.78%, gifted and talented students, 17.67%, and 5.20% are in the special education program.
