East Early College High School’s regular student population is 448 with a student-teacher ratio of 18.2 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Washington B T High School is 848 students and a student-teacher ratio of 15.2 students/teacher ratio.
East Early College High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 97 in student achievement, 96 in school progress and an impressive100 in closing performance gaps. It is in this area where the two schools differ. East Early College High School’s two out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA) and 25% closing performance gaps. Washington B T High School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Social Studies, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in East Early College High School is Hispanics who make up nearly 91.29% of student population, followed by African Americans (4.02%), Asians (3.57%), Whites or Caucasians (0.45%), Native Americans (0.22%) and Two or More Races (0.22%).
The student population at Washington B T High School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 52.00%, followed by African Americans (45.40%), Whites or Caucasians (1.89%), Two or More Races (0.47%) and Native Americans (0.24%). There is no Asians student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the East Early College High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 80.13% compared to 96.93% at Washington B T High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, East Early College High School has 45 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 10.04% of student population. Washington B T High School has significantly more ELLs at 194 or about 22.88% of student population.
East Early College High School’s bilingual students comprise 9.82%, gifted and talented students, 45.54%, while 0.67% are in the special education program.
