Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Meadowbrook Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Daggett Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Daggett Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 81.43% of student population, followed by African Americans (8.26%), Whites or Caucasians (7.13%), Asians (1.69%) and Two or More Races (1.50%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Meadowbrook Elementary School, Hispanics make up 83.96% of student population, followed by African Americans (7.25%), Whites or Caucasians (6.37%), Two or More Races (1.32%), Asians (0.44%) and Native Americans (0.22%).
Based on household incomes, the Daggett Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 85.74% compared to 93.85% at Meadowbrook Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Daggett Elementary School has 259 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 48.59% of student population. Meadowbrook Elementary School has more ELLs at 263 or about 57.80% of student population.
In addition, Daggett Elementary School has 51.03% bilingual students, 4.69% are in the gifted and talented program, while 16.32% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Meadowbrook Elementary School with 56.26% bilingual students, 5.71% gifted and talented students and 12.31% students in the special education program.
