A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Clear Lake Intermediate's two out of seven distinctions are in Social Studies and post-secondary. Seabrook Intermediate did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Clear Lake Intermediate. They make up for 42.28% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (34.13%), African Americans (11.86%), Asians (6.35%), Two or More Races (5.03%) and Native Americans (0.24%).
At Seabrook Intermediate, Whites or Caucasians are the biggest group, comprising 60.79% of student population, followed by Hispanics (25.40%), Two or More Races (5.21%), Asians (4.14%), African Americans (4.04%) and Native Americans (0.32%).
Based on household incomes, Clear Lake Intermediate’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 51.74% compared to 27.21% at Seabrook Intermediate.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Clear Lake Intermediate has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 12.10% of its student population compared to 4.36% at Seabrook Intermediate.
In addition, Clear Lake Intermediate has 9.94% bilingual students, 4.31% are in the gifted and talented program, while 15.81% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Seabrook Intermediate with 4.14% bilingual students, 9.67% gifted and talented students and 11.69% students in the special education program.
Clear Lake Intermediate's 56 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 10.4 years with individual teaching experience averaging 13.3 years. Teachers at Seabrook Intermediate, numbering 58 teachers, have been serving the school for an average of 9.1 years with individual teaching experience averaging 13.1 years.
