Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Ursula Stephens Elementary School's two out of seven distinctions are in Science and post-secondary. Cimarron Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Cimarron Elementary School. They make up for 38.78% of student population, followed by Hispanics (35.81%), African Americans (14.69%), Two or More Races (7.10%), Asians (3.47%) and Native Americans (0.17%).
At Ursula Stephens Elementary School, Hispanics make up 68.05% of student population, followed by African Americans (13.31%), Whites or Caucasians (10.48%), Asians (5.82%), Two or More Races (2.00%) and Native Americans (0.33%).
Based on household incomes, the Cimarron Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 61.06% compared to 79.53% at Ursula Stephens Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Cimarron Elementary School has 73 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 12.05% of student population. Ursula Stephens Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 324 or about 53.91% of student population.
