Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Christie Elementary School, which is a part of FRISCO ISD, with Hosp Elementary School, which is a part of FRISCO ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Both schools garnered only one distinction designation or award for performance. For Christie Elementary School this is in Science while Hosp Elementary School secured one for with 25% student progress.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Christie Elementary School. They make up for 52.82% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (20.26%), African Americans (12.56%), Asians (9.23%), Two or More Races (4.87%) and Native Americans (0.26%).
The student population at Hosp Elementary School is also predominantly by Asians at 49.78%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (26.00%), African Americans (9.06%), Hispanics (8.92%), Two or More Races (5.94%) and Native Americans (0.30%).
Based on household incomes, Christie Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 42.31% compared to 8.77% at Hosp Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Christie Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 47.69% of its student population compared to 16.34% at Hosp Elementary School.
In addition, Christie Elementary School has 48.72% bilingual students, 5.64% are in the gifted and talented program, while 15.90% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Hosp Elementary School with 16.05% bilingual students, 6.69% gifted and talented students and 6.98% students in the special education program.
