Carroll Middle School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 96 in student achievement, 94 in school progress and 94 in closing performance gaps. It scored 95 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Bedford Junior High School also performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 92 in student achievement, 91 in school progress, 92 in closing performance gaps and 92 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Both schools garnered all of seven distinction designations or awards for outstanding performance. These are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Carroll Middle School. They make up for 52.17% of student population, followed by Asians (28.05%), Hispanics (10.52%), Two or More Races (6.59%) and African Americans (2.52%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

The student population at Bedford Junior High School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 43.49%, followed by Hispanics (33.26%), African Americans (12.19%), Two or More Races (6.20%), Asians (3.41%) and Native Americans (0.52%).

Based on household incomes, the Carroll Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 0.84% compared to 44.42% at Bedford Junior High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Carroll Middle School has 12 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 1.68% of student population. Bedford Junior High School has significantly more ELLs at 148 or about 15.29% of student population.
