Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Carol Holt Elementary School and Erma Nash Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at Carol Holt Elementary School. They make up for 32.11% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (31.13%), Hispanics (18.87%), Asians (9.80%) and Two or More Races (8.09%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Erma Nash Elementary School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 55.32% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (18.71%), African Americans (18.23%), Two or More Races (5.16%), Asians (1.77%) and Native Americans (0.65%).
Based on household incomes, the Carol Holt Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 50.98% compared to 58.87% at Erma Nash Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Carol Holt Elementary School has 67 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 16.42% of student population. Erma Nash Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 236 or about 38.06% of student population.
In addition, Carol Holt Elementary School has 15.20% bilingual students, 2.45% are in the gifted and talented program, while 13.73% are in the special education program.
