Agnes Cotton Academy's four out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, Social Studies, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Briscoe Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Briscoe Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 96.23% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (2.76%), Two or More Races (0.50%), African Americans (0.25%) and Native Americans (0.25%). There is no Asians student in the school.
At Agnes Cotton Academy, Hispanics make up 93.42% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (5.44%), African Americans (0.45%), Two or More Races (0.45%) and Asians (0.23%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, Briscoe Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 92.46% compared to 90.93% at Agnes Cotton Academy.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Briscoe Elementary School has 125 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 31.41% of student population. Agnes Cotton Academy has more ELLs at 127 or about 28.80% of student population.
In addition, Briscoe Elementary School has 31.66% bilingual students, 2.76% are in the gifted and talented program, while 11.31% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Agnes Cotton Academy with 31.52% bilingual students, 5.90% gifted and talented students and 9.98% students in the special education program.
