When we compared Boude Storey Middle School, which is a part of DALLAS ISD, with Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy, which is a part of DALLAS ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Boude Storey Middle School’s regular student population is 477 with a 13.6 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy is 455 students and a 17.6 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Boude Storey Middle School’s only distinction designation is in Comparative Academic Growth. Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy's seven out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Boude Storey Middle School. They make up for 61.01% of student population, followed by African Americans (36.69%), Two or More Races (1.05%), Whites or Caucasians (0.84%) and Asians (0.42%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy, Hispanics make up 82.86% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (10.11%), African Americans (4.84%), Asians (1.32%), Native Americans (0.44%) and Two or More Races (0.44%).
Based on household incomes, Boude Storey Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 96.44% compared to 67.47% at Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Boude Storey Middle School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 48.01% of its student population compared to 49.89% at Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy.
Additionally, Boude Storey Middle School has 41.93% bilingual students, 14.05% are in the gifted and talented program, while 14.68% are in the special education program. Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy’s bilingual students comprise 47.25% of student population while 2.42% are in the special education program. Henry W Longfellow Career Exploration Academy bested Boude Storey Middle School in one area, with nearly 78.02% of its student population in the gifted and talented program.

Of its teaching staff, Boude Storey Middle School has two teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has two teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, eight teachers have worked for 11-20 years, eight teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 12 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including three beginning teachers.
