Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Behlau Elementary School and Boone Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Behlau Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 68.63% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (14.87%), African Americans (10.29%), Two or More Races (4.25%), Asians (1.47%) and Native Americans (0.16%).
At Boone Elementary School, Hispanics make up 73.76% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (12.19%), African Americans (7.02%), Two or More Races (3.93%), Asians (2.89%) and Native Americans (0.21%).
Based on household incomes, the Behlau Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 43.30% compared to 72.52% at Boone Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Behlau Elementary School has 23 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 3.76% of student population. Boone Elementary School has more ELLs at 25 or about 5.17% of student population.
Behlau Elementary School 15.69% are in the special education program, 3.10% are in the gifted and talented program, and bilingual students comprise 0.65% students.
