When we compared Beard Elementary School, which is a part of NORTHSIDE ISD, with Timberwilde Elementary School, which is a part of NORTHSIDE ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Beard Elementary School has a regular student population of 639 with a 16.4 students/teacher ratio while Timberwilde Elementary School has 532 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13 students/teacher ratio.
Beard Elementary School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Beard Elementary School's one out of seven distinction is in 25% closing performance gaps. Timberwilde Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Beard Elementary School. They make up for 43.82% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (34.59%), Asians (14.71%), Two or More Races (4.07%), African Americans (2.50%) and Native Americans (0.16%).
At Timberwilde Elementary School, Hispanics make up 75.75% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (14.66%), African Americans (5.26%), Two or More Races (2.44%), Asians (1.13%) and Native Americans (0.38%).
Based on household incomes, the Beard Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 12.05% compared to 72.74% at Timberwilde Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Beard Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 8.14% of its student population compared to 1.13% at Timberwilde Elementary School.
Beard Elementary School 11.74% are in the special education program, 8.61% are in the gifted and talented program, and bilingual students comprise 0.31% students. Timberwilde Elementary School has no bilingual student, while 18.42% are in the special education program, and 5.08% are in the gifted and talented program students.
