Lively Middle School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 74 in student achievement, 79 in school progress and 72 in closing performance gaps. It scored 77 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Kealing Middle School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 93 in student achievement, 90 in school progress, 82 in closing performance gaps and 90 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Lively Middle School’s only distinction designation is in Social Studies. Kealing Middle School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and post-secondary.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Lively Middle School is Hispanics who make up nearly 68.24% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (18.68%), African Americans (6.48%), Asians (3.52%) and Two or More Races (2.97%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

The student population at Kealing Middle School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 36.20%, followed by Hispanics (28.85%), Asians (18.56%), Two or More Races (8.78%) and African Americans (7.61%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

Based on household incomes, Lively Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 65.71% compared to 24.75% at Kealing Middle School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Lively Middle School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 39.56% of its student population compared to 8.11% at Kealing Middle School.

In addition, Lively Middle School has 39.34% bilingual students, 24.07% are in the gifted and talented program, while 19.89% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Kealing Middle School with 7.78% bilingual students, 54.93% gifted and talented students and 9.45% students in the special education program.

Lively Middle School's 61 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 5.1 years with individual teaching experience averaging 7.5 years. Teachers at Kealing Middle School, numbering 69 teachers, have been serving the school for an average of 6.6 years with individual teaching experience averaging 8.5 years.
