When we compared Mansfield Summit High School, which is a part of MANSFIELD ISD, with Mansfield Lake Ridge High School, which is a part of MANSFIELD ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Mansfield Summit High School’s regular student population is 1,905 with a student-teacher ratio of 15.1 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School is 2,592 students and a student-teacher ratio of 17.7 students/teacher ratio.
Mansfield Summit High School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 80 in student achievement, 81 in school progress and 77 in closing performance gaps. It scored 80 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.
On the other hand, Mansfield Lake Ridge High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 92 in student achievement, 85 in school progress, 86 in closing performance gaps and 90 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Mansfield Lake Ridge High School's one out of seven distinction is in with 25% student progress. Mansfield Summit High School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at Mansfield Summit High School. They make up for 43.25% of student population, followed by Hispanics (29.03%), Whites or Caucasians (16.54%), Asians (6.67%), Two or More Races (3.88%) and Native Americans (0.31%).
The student population at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School is also predominantly by African Americans at 42.36%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (22.65%), Hispanics (19.41%), Asians (9.92%), Two or More Races (5.44%) and Native Americans (0.23%).
Based on household incomes, Mansfield Summit High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 59.53% compared to 22.34% at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Mansfield Summit High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 7.61% of its student population compared to 2.62% at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School.
In addition, Mansfield Summit High School has 7.40% bilingual students, 6.14% are in the gifted and talented program, while 10.97% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Mansfield Lake Ridge High School with 2.35% bilingual students, 7.99% gifted and talented students and 7.79% students in the special education program.
Mansfield Summit High School's 126 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 7.3 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 12.4 years. Mansfield Lake Ridge High School's 146 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 6.9 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 12.2 years.
Of its teaching staff, Mansfield Summit High School has three teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 26 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 36 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 25 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 34 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including one beginning teacher only. Mansfield Lake Ridge High School has three teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 28 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 47 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 39 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 29 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including one beginning teacher only.
In both schools, female teachers outnumber the male teachers. Mansfield Summit High School employs 69 female teachers and 56 male teachers. Of its teaching staff, 16 special education teachers are being assisted by 15 teachers aides or paraprofessionals. The school also employs six staff members in the school administration department and 12 more working as school support staff.
On the other hand, Mansfield Lake Ridge High School employs 88 female teachers and 57 male teachers. Of its teaching staff, 12 special education teachers are being assisted by 13 teachers aides or paraprofessionals. The school also employs six staff members in the school administration department and ten more working as school support staff.
