Seguin High School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 86 in student achievement, 91 in school progress and 76 in closing performance gaps. It scored 87 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Martin High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 90 in student achievement, 90 in school progress, 90 in closing performance gaps and 90 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Both schools garnered only three distinction designations or awards for performance. For Seguin High School these are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Social Studies and post-secondary while Martin High School secured in Science, Social Studies and post-secondary.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at Seguin High School. They make up for 37.71% of student population, followed by Hispanics (35.26%), Asians (12.03%), Whites or Caucasians (10.81%), Two or More Races (3.67%) and Native Americans (0.26%).

The student population at Martin High School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 38.02%, followed by Hispanics (27.95%), African Americans (19.60%), Asians (9.22%), Two or More Races (4.53%) and Native Americans (0.42%).

Based on household incomes, Seguin High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 71.62% compared to 42.40% at Martin High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Seguin High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 20.72% of its student population compared to 7.67% at Martin High School.

In addition, Seguin High School has 20.21% bilingual students, 14.93% are in the gifted and talented program, while 13.58% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Martin High School with 7.38% bilingual students, 16.80% gifted and talented students and 9.08% students in the special education program.
