Martin High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 90 in student achievement, 90 in school progress and 90 in closing performance gaps. It scored 90 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Arlington High School earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 78 in student achievement, 85 in school progress, 68 in closing performance gaps and 80 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Both schools garnered only three distinction designations or awards for performance. These are in Science, Social Studies and post-secondary.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Martin High School. They make up for 38.02% of student population, followed by Hispanics (27.95%), African Americans (19.60%), Asians (9.22%), Two or More Races (4.53%) and Native Americans (0.42%).

The student population at Arlington High School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 50.23%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (23.68%), African Americans (19.46%), Two or More Races (3.88%), Asians (1.90%) and Native Americans (0.62%).

Based on household incomes, the Martin High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 42.40% compared to 65.89% at Arlington High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Martin High School has 271 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 7.67% of student population. Arlington High School has significantly more ELLs at 650 or about 25.19% of student population.

Martin High School’s bilingual students comprise 7.38%, gifted and talented students, 16.80%, while 9.08% are in the special education program. Arlington High School bilingual students comprise 24.69%, gifted and talented students, 14.77%, and 10.35% are in the special education program.
