Tyler High School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 79 in student achievement, 79 in school progress and 75 in closing performance gaps. It scored 78 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Tyler Legacy High School earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 86 in student achievement, 86 in school progress, 82 in closing performance gaps and 85 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Tyler Legacy High School's two out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA) and Science. Tyler High School has no distinction.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Tyler High School is Hispanics who make up nearly 68.10% of student population, followed by African Americans (27.29%), Whites or Caucasians (3.03%), Two or More Races (1.07%), Native Americans (0.33%) and Asians (0.19%).

The student population at Tyler Legacy High School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 36.57%, followed by Hispanics (30.03%), African Americans (25.12%), Two or More Races (4.63%), Asians (3.18%) and Native Americans (0.47%).

Based on household incomes, Tyler High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 86.71% compared to 52.40% at Tyler Legacy High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Tyler High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 36.38% of its student population compared to 10.05% at Tyler Legacy High School.
