Calallen West Intermediate performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 90 in student achievement, 86 in school progress and 91 in closing performance gaps. It scored 90 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Tuloso-midway Intermediate earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 73 in student achievement, 79 in school progress, 82 in closing performance gaps and 80 overall in post-secondary readiness.

Calallen West Intermediate's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Tuloso-midway Intermediate did not earn any distinction.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Calallen West Intermediate. They make up for 57.04% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (39.91%), Two or More Races (1.64%), African Americans (0.70%), Asians (0.47%) and Native Americans (0.23%).

At Tuloso-midway Intermediate, Hispanics make up 83.76% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (14.14%), Two or More Races (1.10%), African Americans (0.66%) and Asians (0.22%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

Based on household incomes, the Calallen West Intermediate’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 45.07% compared to 48.84% at Tuloso-midway Intermediate.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Calallen West Intermediate has 13 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 3.05% of student population.
