New Caney High School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Porter High School's three out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. New Caney High School has no distinction.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in New Caney High School is Hispanics who make up nearly 67.52% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (22.81%), African Americans (6.57%), Two or More Races (1.84%), Asians (1.03%) and Native Americans (0.09%).

At Porter High School, Hispanics make up 66.75% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (21.69%), African Americans (6.69%), Two or More Races (2.96%), Asians (1.15%) and Native Americans (0.43%).

Based on household incomes, New Caney High School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly higher at 74.27% compared to 68.37% at Porter High School.
