South Middle School's three out of seven distinctions are in Science, Social Studies and post-secondary. Betty Harwell Middle School did not earn any distinction.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in South Middle School is Hispanics who make up nearly 95.51% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (2.25%), Asians (0.80%), Two or More Races (0.72%), African Americans (0.64%) and Native Americans (0.08%).

At Betty Harwell Middle School, Hispanics make up 99.62% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (0.38%). There is no African Americans, Asians, Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.

Based on household incomes, the South Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 62.52% compared to 94.85% at Betty Harwell Middle School.
