Goodnight Middle School was accorded a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. It is in this area where the two schools differ. Goodnight Middle School’s only distinction designation is in Social Studies. Miller Middle School's three out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Social Studies and post-secondary.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Goodnight Middle School is Hispanics who make up nearly 82.58% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (12.10%), African Americans (3.05%), Two or More Races (1.58%) and Asians (0.68%). At Miller Middle School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 63.06% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (28.68%), African Americans (4.69%), Two or More Races (2.57%), Asians (0.67%) and Native Americans (0.11%).

Based on household incomes, Goodnight Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 81.79% compared to 69.87% at Miller Middle School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Goodnight Middle School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 21.61% of its student population compared to 9.60% at Miller Middle School.
