Spring Early College Academy performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 96 in student achievement, 96 in school progress and an impressive100 in closing performance gaps. It scored 97 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Carl Wunsche Sr High School also performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 91 in student achievement, 91 in school progress, 98 in closing performance gaps and 93 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Spring Early College Academy’s three out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Carl Wunsche Sr High School's seven out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Spring Early College Academy. They make up for 61.89% of student population, followed by African Americans (21.74%), Asians (5.63%), Whites or Caucasians (5.37%), Native Americans (2.81%) and Two or More Races (2.05%).

At Carl Wunsche Sr High School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 61.01% of student population, followed by African Americans (25.68%), Whites or Caucasians (4.59%), Asians (4.19%), Two or More Races (2.33%) and Native Americans (2.13%).

Based on household incomes, the Spring Early College Academy’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 64.96% compared to 66.53% at Carl Wunsche Sr High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Spring Early College Academy has 52 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 13.30% of student population. Carl Wunsche Sr High School has significantly more ELLs at 136 or about 9.05% of student population.

Spring Early College Academy’s bilingual students comprise 13.04%, gifted and talented students, 31.97%, while 1.79% are in the special education program. Carl Wunsche Sr High School bilingual students comprise 8.78%, gifted and talented students, 29.74%, and 2.26% are in the special education program.

Spring Early College Academy's 21 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 8.6 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 13.4 years. Carl Wunsche Sr High School's 89 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 7.5 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 12 years.

Of its teaching staff, Spring Early College Academy has one teacher only serving the school for over 30 years, has one teacher only serving the school for 20-30 years, nine teachers have worked for 11-20 years, six teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while four teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, and school has no beginning teacher.
