Southmore Intermediate earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 73 in student achievement, 85 in school progress and 75 in closing performance gaps. It scored 82 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Except for with 25% student progress, Southmore Intermediate earned one out of seven distinctions. Jackson Intermediate's two out of seven distinctions are in with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Southmore Intermediate is Hispanics who make up nearly 92.56% of student population, followed by African Americans (3.57%), Whites or Caucasians (3.27%), Asians (0.30%) and Two or More Races (0.30%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

At Jackson Intermediate, Hispanics make up 96.20% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (2.09%), African Americans (1.33%) and Asians (0.38%). There is no Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.

Based on household incomes, Southmore Intermediate’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 93.30% compared to 92.98% at Jackson Intermediate.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Southmore Intermediate has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 58.63% of its student population compared to 56.17% at Jackson Intermediate.

In addition, Southmore Intermediate has 53.57% bilingual students, 5.80% are in the gifted and talented program, while 16.96% are in the special education program.
