Tompkins High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 94 in student achievement, 90 in school progress and 96 in closing performance gaps. It scored 95 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Fulshear High School also performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 92 in student achievement, 88 in school progress, 94 in closing performance gaps and 93 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Tompkins High School bagged all seven distinction awards in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Fulshear High School’s two out of seven distinctions are in Social Studies and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Asians comprise the biggest group at Tompkins High School. They make up for 34.91% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (29.90%), Hispanics (22.29%), African Americans (9.35%), Two or More Races (3.20%) and Native Americans (0.29%).

The student population at Fulshear High School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 32.48%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (29.30%), African Americans (23.36%), Asians (9.94%), Two or More Races (4.44%) and Native Americans (0.29%).

Based on household incomes, the Tompkins High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 16.74% compared to 28.04% at Fulshear High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Tompkins High School has 193 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 6.12% of student population. Fulshear High School has significantly more ELLs at 422 or about 12.42% of student population.

Tompkins High School’s bilingual students comprise 5.90%, gifted and talented students, 19.66%, while 8.72% are in the special education program. Fulshear High School bilingual students comprise 12.12%, gifted and talented students, 5.68%, and 10.36% are in the special education program.

Tompkins High School's 183 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 7.8 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 12.3 years. Fulshear High School's 146 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 4.6 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 11.7 years.
