Henderson J Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Ashford Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Henderson J Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 96.08% of student population, followed by African Americans (3.10%), Whites or Caucasians (0.65%) and Native Americans (0.16%). In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Henderson J Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 66.34% of its student population compared to 25.18% at Ashford Elementary School.
Henderson J Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 64.87%, gifted and talented students, 10.78%, while 6.05% are in the special education program. Ashford Elementary School bilingual students comprise 31.91%, gifted and talented students, 3.90%, and 8.33% are in the special education program.
