Cypress Ridge High School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 75 in student achievement, 81 in school progress and 90 in closing performance gaps. It scored 84 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Cy-fair High School also earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 85 in student achievement, 88 in school progress, 92 in closing performance gaps and 89 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Cypress Ridge High School's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Cy-fair High School’s four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science and with 25% student progress.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Cypress Ridge High School. They make up for 62.73% of student population, followed by African Americans (20.45%), Whites or Caucasians (7.13%), Asians (6.61%), Two or More Races (1.99%) and Native Americans (0.94%).

The student population at Cy-fair High School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 39.40%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (30.72%), African Americans (17.46%), Asians (8.40%), Two or More Races (3.39%) and Native Americans (0.56%).

Based on household incomes, Cypress Ridge High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 79.37% compared to 51.01% at Cy-fair High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Cypress Ridge High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 24.30% of its student population compared to 9.55% at Cy-fair High School.

In addition, Cypress Ridge High School has 23.18% bilingual students, 5.14% are in the gifted and talented program, while 11.08% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Cy-fair High School with 8.90% bilingual students, 11.67% gifted and talented students and 10.46% students in the special education program.

Cypress Ridge High School's 260 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 8.3 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 11.7 years. Cy-fair High School's 211 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 9.9 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 12.7 years.
