Cy-fair High School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 85 in student achievement, 88 in school progress and 92 in closing performance gaps. It scored 89 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Cypress Ridge High School also earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 75 in student achievement, 81 in school progress, 90 in closing performance gaps and 84 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Cy-fair High School’s four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science and with 25% student progress. Cypress Ridge High School's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Cy-fair High School. They make up for 39.40% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (30.72%), African Americans (17.46%), Asians (8.40%), Two or More Races (3.39%) and Native Americans (0.56%).

At Cypress Ridge High School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 62.73% of student population, followed by African Americans (20.45%), Whites or Caucasians (7.13%), Asians (6.61%), Two or More Races (1.99%) and Native Americans (0.94%).

Based on household incomes, the Cy-fair High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 51.01% compared to 79.37% at Cypress Ridge High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Cy-fair High School has 307 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 9.55% of student population. Cypress Ridge High School has significantly more ELLs at 695 or about 24.30% of student population.

Cy-fair High School’s bilingual students comprise 8.90%, gifted and talented students, 11.67%, while 10.46% are in the special education program. Cypress Ridge High School bilingual students comprise 23.18%, gifted and talented students, 5.14%, and 11.08% are in the special education program.

Cy-fair High School's 211 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 9.9 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 12.7 years. Cypress Ridge High School's 260 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 8.3 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 11.7 years.

Of its teaching staff, Cy-fair High School has nine teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 41 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 55 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 52 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 48 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including six beginning teachers. Cypress Ridge High School has 13 teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 37 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 68 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 64 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 57 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including 22 beginning teachers.
