Taylor High School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 76 in student achievement, 84 in school progress and 77 in closing performance gaps. It scored 82 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Kerr High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 98 in student achievement, 98 in school progress, 100 in closing performance gaps and 99 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Taylor High School’s only distinction designation is in Comparative Academic Growth. Kerr High School's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Taylor High School. They make up for 60.13% of student population, followed by African Americans (24.81%), Asians (9.60%), Whites or Caucasians (3.63%), Native Americans (1.31%) and Two or More Races (0.32%).

The student population at Kerr High School is also predominantly by Asians at 45.85%, followed by Hispanics (31.23%), African Americans (15.86%), Whites or Caucasians (5.20%), Two or More Races (0.87%) and Native Americans (0.74%).

Based on household incomes, Taylor High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 79.39% compared to 68.77% at Kerr High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Taylor High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 44.88% of its student population compared to 10.16% at Kerr High School.

In addition, Taylor High School has 44.78% bilingual students, 4.38% are in the gifted and talented program, while 11.08% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Kerr High School with 10.16% bilingual students, 39.03% gifted and talented students and 1.12% students in the special education program.

Taylor High School's 171 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 8.5 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 11.1 years. Kerr High School's 37 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 15.5 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 19.3 years.

Of its teaching staff, Taylor High School has five teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 25 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 48 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 39 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 43 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including 12 beginning teachers. Kerr High School has seven teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 11 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, nine teachers have worked for 11-20 years, eight teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while two teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, and school has no beginning teacher.

In both schools, female teachers outnumber the male teachers. Taylor High School employs 110 female teachers and 61 male teachers.
