Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

William B Travis High School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and post-secondary. George Bush High School has no distinction.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at George Bush High School. They make up for 41.30% of student population, followed by African Americans (36.83%), Asians (13.92%), Whites or Caucasians (4.68%), Two or More Races (2.44%) and Native Americans (0.58%).

The student population at William B Travis High School is also predominantly by African Americans at 29.07%, followed by Asians (29.04%), Hispanics (19.45%), Whites or Caucasians (18.36%), Two or More Races (3.50%) and Native Americans (0.29%).

Based on household incomes, George Bush High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 67.36% compared to 37.78% at William B Travis High School.
