Foster High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 94 in student achievement, 93 in school progress and 97 in closing performance gaps. It is in this area where the two schools differ. Foster High School's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. B F Terry High School’s three out of seven distinctions are in post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at Foster High School. They make up for 28.44% of student population, followed by Hispanics (27.89%), Whites or Caucasians (26.72%), Asians (12.18%), Two or More Races (4.30%) and Native Americans (0.33%).

At B F Terry High School, Hispanics make up 78.36% of student population, followed by African Americans (10.19%), Whites or Caucasians (8.47%), Asians (1.59%), Two or More Races (1.13%) and Native Americans (0.13%).

Based on household incomes, the Foster High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 33.28% compared to 66.05% at B F Terry High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Foster High School has 283 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 10.32% of student population. B F Terry High School has significantly more ELLs at 345 or about 22.83% of student population.

Foster High School’s bilingual students comprise 10.10%, gifted and talented students, 9.70%, while 10.90% are in the special education program. B F Terry High School bilingual students comprise 21.71%, gifted and talented students, 4.57%, and 17.80% are in the special education program.
