Denton High School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 82 in student achievement, 81 in school progress and 81 in closing performance gaps. It scored 82 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Denton High School's one out of seven distinction is in Science. Guyer High School did not earn any distinction.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Denton High School. They make up for 39.89% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (36.39%), African Americans (16.42%), Asians (3.31%), Two or More Races (3.07%) and Native Americans (0.67%).

The student population at Guyer High School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 51.34%, followed by Hispanics (30.93%), African Americans (8.34%), Asians (5.08%), Two or More Races (3.80%) and Native Americans (0.35%).
