Jimmie Tyler Brashear Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Lida Hooe Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Jimmie Tyler Brashear Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 84.54% of student population, followed by African Americans (11.90%), Whites or Caucasians (1.55%), Two or More Races (1.24%) and Native Americans (0.77%). Based on household incomes, the Jimmie Tyler Brashear Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 82.38% compared to 93.83% at Lida Hooe Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Jimmie Tyler Brashear Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 50.70% of its student population compared to 44.22% at Lida Hooe Elementary School.
