Pearland J H East performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 90 in student achievement, 84 in school progress and 93 in closing performance gaps. It scored 91 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Pearland J H West also performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 92 in student achievement, 91 in school progress, 91 in closing performance gaps and 92 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Pearland J H East’s two out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA) and 25% closing performance gaps. Pearland J H West's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and post-secondary.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Pearland J H East. They make up for 40.88% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (39.75%), African Americans (10.50%), Asians (5.13%), Two or More Races (3.63%) and Native Americans (0.13%).

The student population at Pearland J H West is also predominantly by Hispanics at 44.89%, followed by Asians (20.74%), Whites or Caucasians (20.64%), African Americans (9.04%), Two or More Races (4.57%) and Native Americans (0.11%).

Based on household incomes, Pearland J H East’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 35.38% compared to 34.47% at Pearland J H West.
